In mid-May, the mountain railways open for the summer season. The perfect opportunity to get into hiking mood!
Some of our guests are hikers. And some hikers like to start their adventure with a little help from the mountain lift – and why not? If you’re staying at Lederer, our hotel in Austria, I highly recommend a visit to Schmittenhöhe. It’s the perfect excursion destination for my two- and four-legged friends, for those with short and with long legs.

Let’s head to the valley station of the Schmittenbahn lift, reach new heights, and take a leisurely spring stroll through the colourful landscapes. By the way: Schmittenhöhebahn will start summer operations on 13 May 2023.
